Even the Mountains and Trees are Groaning while they Wait on Christmas Eve

Advent. Day 24 of 24.
Christmas Eve.

Come thou long expected Jesus.
The whole earth groans in waiting.
The trees sag and break under the added weight.
The mountains cry out.
The people long for the suffering, pain, broken homes, broken families, sickness, turmoil, homelessness, loneliness, oppression, depression, ecological destruction, power-mongering, wall-building, racism, violence, greed, hunger, and war to end once and for all.

We’re so close now.
I’m hoping,
Trusting,
Believing,
that everything is going to be alright,
that peace, Shalom, will rule the day,
that LOVE ultimately wins.

But we still have to wait…

Come Lord Jesus.
Come quickly.
Amen
