I’m thankful today for the significance of Holy Tuesday.
The religious elite are ramping up their conspiracies to trap Jesus.
They are bloodthirsty and out to murder Him.
Jesus condemns those in power while simultaneously affirming his identity as The Saviour of the world.
And we are left with images of His closest followers still not getting it.
They fell asleep at a time when they needed to be alert, watching and praying.
A time when He needed His friends the most.
I am thankful today for the challenge of trying to stay awake, to be alert, to watch, to pray, and to prepare for Easter.
I am also thankful for the certainty that if/when I myself fall asleep on my watch, there is grace.
